Rickey Hoefnagel was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, growing up in a large, loving family. She immigrated as a young woman to the United States where she became a citizen. After raising two sons in the Los Angeles area, she began painting over 20 years ago in the style of Impressionism. Most recently, the unique style she has developed has been influenced by fusionart. Her primary medium is acrylic on canvas. Rickey’s recent public exhibitions in California include the Pacific Art Center in Westwood, the Highway 111 Gallery in La Quinta, the Kenneth Village Arts and Crafts Festival in Glendale and the Mehregan Fall Festival in Irvine. She also exhibited at the Tucson Museum of Art in Arizona in combination with the music of composer Michael Hoppe. Rickey often enjoys writing poems to accompany her paintings. She also teaches painting privately and for small groups. She now lives near Palm Springs, California, with her husband, Richard Buntin.
